December.

Well, November and December have been very brisk, wet, and down right freezing cold and soooo beyond busy that I have hardly had time to sit down and drink a cup of tea. So now, en route to pick up some movie tickets and a great friend, we stopped off at Riverview and snapped a few shots of the latest and greatest threads.

I really love these old rustic buildings, I love the detail on the sides of the stairs, and the banister. The stone work is beautiful, one day I wish to have such beautiful things in my household! The wonderful white blazer was a gift from my brother for Christmas, He originally had bought me a robe but I already had one so I exchanged it for this beautiful piece!

These last few weeks have been so hectic and full of crazy unexpected surprises. I have been on a intense practicum for the last two weeks, and after getting used to the routine of, early morning lazy days of tights, oversized sweaters and infinity scarves, a large coffee and meditation time in the early AM before I enter the centre of doom and free evenings. Not once did I have a night where I had to buckle down and study for my usual Friday test. I was easy breezy baby, it all ended too soon. Woah is my heart and quiet is my mind, actually, non existent is my mind. This whole going back to school after TWO weeks has dumbfounded me. Owell. Thought I would attempt to get out of this slump and get dressed in something other than my everyday tights-sweater-scarf, maybe it was the glorious sunshine, who really knows.

How to choose the perfect outfit!

Well, Some of you may be wondering, "With all these clothes, how does she EVER figure out what to wear in the mornings?" or "If I had that many clothes I would have 4 different outfits a day!"
No, No, No my dear readers, none of the above are true. Yes I agree, I do have many clothes and many pairs of shoes, a quite excessive amount actually.
The following is an outline of the complete run around of how to put an outfit together.

Step 1) Start with the one piece you absolutely HAVE to wear. That shirt you bought the other day at that thrift store? YUP. Thats the one. In my case this item is my new red rose chiffon blouse! Thrifted from Salvation Army - $4 **remember you always want to have a focus point.
Step 2) Now what shall I wear for my bottoms? Something plain Im thinking, so they will not take away any attention the beautiful blouse is getting. I pair the blouse with some black opaque tights.
BUT… I’m in the mood to have a little more fun and not be so girly, So?
Step 3) Add a thin, warm leather belt to the mix, nothing with any pattern because that would clash with the blouse. Tie it in a cute little knot.
BUT…
Step 4) I don't want this outfit to be completely bursting with femininity, so Ive paired the floral blouse with some awesome chunky combat boots. Time to spice it up. Now the outfit is more balanced, Check it! Balance is KEY
Step 5) Keeping accessories bare minimal (only my bracelets & studs) because I’ve got a lot going on. Dont want to take away from my belt & boots!
Step 6) Jacket...Hmm. Something in between flirty girly and combat man. Beige Cargo Jacket with a fur hood. Perfecto! See how that all ties together nicely.
Step 7) Hair? Well, it is dirty. Besides down would be too heavy with the blouse&belt, so up it goes with no rhyme or reason.

Hope this helped, Enjoy!

There seems to be a vague out look on the term 'WEEKEND' ; A thought of relaxation, restoration & reconnection with things and people we may have been too busy or just too tired to converse with throughout the week. People have fallen in to this deception that if they get through the stamp card work week of '9am5pm/ monday-friday' that they will later on have a sense of gratification and leisureness on the weekend.

Dont get me wrong I am all for one and one for all on this crazy aspect, but I hardly find the time to do any of the above. The weekends for me are a time of commitment to coffee dates, studying, prior engagements, and events. Hardly the time to sleep in and lounge about in my 'decadent house robe'. Friday night I am preparing for Saturday and what chores I need to get done around the house, Packing a bag to take with me that is filled with fun tricks to pass the time wherever I may go, never missing a beat, and never being caught off guard the following week.

Saturday I got up. @7AM.

Had a shower,
put a load of laundry on,
got myself ready for the new 007 SKYFALL flick of the week
&& packed my bag for the rest of the day - including a separate outfit to add to my blog later on.
Nevertheless I was caught up in taking a nap. When I should have been blogging.
So Im sorry for the pictures, they may be blurry. They may be dark, but they are filled with chic flare, you just might have to look a little bit harder.

How to De-shrink Cotton/Wool Clothing

Well, I really have had no idea up until tonight.

Here's the sitch;
I put my new gems in the wash; considering one of the rules to live by (buying anything from value village or any consignment store must be washed, no questions asked.) and then just assuming to myself that since they are from a second hand store obviously whoever had these before did not follow the rules of washing and air dry or light wash or DONT PUT IT IN THE DRYER, so i just usually put things in the dryer, all things from consignment stores.
BUT
unfortunately, this time, I was wrong.
2/3 of my new sweaters turned out fine but the one and only, prized possession,

S-H-R-U-N-K.

my heart
it breaks
oh sorrow why have you chosen me
the rose has wilted
je suis très désole *Insert fainting hand to forehead gesture*
all hope is gone
no need for a new day
j'ai miserable
if i don't have you..
my sweater.
Eddie Bauer was his name and beautiful knit-thick-collar&buttons was his game.

Hold the phone.
all of a sudden things took a turn for the better,
I found hope,
a small gleaming light in the distance
is that it? could it be? an angel from laundry heaven; 1TBLS hair conditioner & 1L d'eau, pushpin to a cork board and let air dry?

Worth a shot.
Ill keep you posted with the deets,

Fingers &&Toes crossed.
